Could you play a leading role in our International Emergency Response?
We are recruiting a Global Response Manager to lead the Emergency Response component of the ESTA (Emergencies, Surge & Technical Advisory) Team by ensuring that BRC’s response capability is maintained, emergencies are managed effectively and efficiently, and that learning is incorporated into the ongoing business processes of BRC.
Reporting to the Head of ESTA, you will take the lead on one of the 3 components which comprise the Emergencies, Surge and Technical Advisory (ESTA) Team. You will be responsible for the management, oversight and effective delivery of BRC’s ‘business as usual’ emergency preparedness and response activities, as well as the operational responses which take place outside of the 4 regional teams.
This is a hybrid, “Flexi” role, working remotely with a requirement to visit the UK Office in Moorfields, London 1 or 2 days per week.

The Programmes and Partnerships department provides single oversight of our programme work and our long-term capacity building partnerships and disaster management. The department will work in partnership not only externally with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the IFRC and ICRC, but also internally within a matrix relationship of technical advisers and policy professionals in other teams.
The purpose of the Emergencies, Surge and Technical Advisory (ESTA) team is to deliver effective and efficient support to Movement disaster and crisis responses worldwide, according to needs and BRC added value.

Who you’ll be
We’re looking for an experienced Emergency Response (operations) professional with technical knowledge and expertise within Disaster Management and the broader disaster management cycle.
You will have demonstrable overseas field experience in a humanitarian or influencing role in a relevant area.
You will have strong leadership and line management experience along with team, networking and collaboration skills to support your ability to establish relationships and influence key decision-makers and interlocutors.
You will possess project Cycle Management experience with good analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative and the ability to interpret information from a variety of sources and present to audiences at all levels.
